SPRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 4/27/2013
The third General Assembly for the year 2012-2013 took place on the evening of April 27 at the Solar Manor Restaurant in Roselle Park, NJ. A group of 50 including physicians, nurses, other healthcare practitioners and volunteers attended. The atmosphere was excellent and pleasant, the food delicious, the conversations interesting. It was quite telling that many would stay long after the end of the proceedings to chat and discuss about the subjects of the evening.

Dr. Jeanlouie and Dr. Ducheine delivered informative and thorough presentations on the Cuban Healthcare System and on the basics of the Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). We realized that medicine in that island is comparable to a sacerdotal career and they can afford to have one physician per 170 people compared to 400+ in the US. We also talked about the ACOs which are groups of health care providers who deliver coordinated care and chronic disease management; we tried to understand and forecast how they will affect physician practices.
We thank our sponsors for standing by us, once more.
We expect to see you again, on Saturday, June 8, at our annual gala fund raising dinner, the 2013 the Night of Fever, at the Double Tree Hilton, at Newark Airport. The proceeds are used essentially to support a school of 530 children in a very impoverished area of Port-au-Prince called La Saline.
We rest assured that you will grant us the privilege of your presence at our next General Assembly Dinner Conference, on October 26 at the same place.
